Social Worker - Children in Care

Salary: £35235 - £39513 per annum
Location: Herefordshire

 

A local authority in Herefordshire is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join its Children & Young People in Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate professional to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people, working within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will bring their knowledge and experience to a team committed to improving outcomes for children in care. Working closely with multi-disciplinary colleagues, the Social Worker will ensure that the voice of the child is central to all decision-making.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a local authority on a journey of improvement, with a strong focus on restorative practice and relationship-based social work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, child-centred social work practice
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies
  • Ensure safeguarding and care planning is robust and timely
  • Promote the voice and lived experience of children in care
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous service improvement

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent)
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Experience in statutory children's social care
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong professional relationships
