Social Worker - Assessment Team

A leading local authority in the South East is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate professional to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, undertaking focused, analytical assessments and developing SMART care plans that reflect the council's commitment to safeguarding and child-centred practice. They will work within a supportive team structure, underpinned by reflective supervision and a strengths-based approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out high-quality assessments and interventions using the Signs of Safety model
• Engage directly with children and families to understand their lived experiences
• Prepare clear, concise reports for Child Protection Conferences, court proceedings, and other statutory meetings
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners including health, education, and police
• Maintain accurate case records in line with GDPR and council systems

Salary and Benefits:

• £38,476 - £41,956 per annum
• £5,000 market premia (payable in 12 equal instalments)
• £2,000 annual retention payment after 1 years' service
• Generous annual leave entitlement up to 30 days plus bank holiday

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Completion of the ASYE(Assessed and Supported Year in Employment)
• Minimum of 3 years' post-qualifying experiencein statutory children's services
• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding legislation, and court work
• Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable:

• Experience using MOSAIC or similar case management systems
• Familiarity with the council's local procedures and policies
