Senior Social Worker - Adult Social Care (Medway Council)

Connect2Socialwork is currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority in South East England for a passionate and experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Adult Social Care division. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking local authority committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

The Role:

The Senior Social Worker will play a key role in supporting a team of social care professionals, providing expert supervision, guidance, and oversight. The successful candidate will manage a complex caseload, lead service improvement initiatives, and contribute to the development of best practice across the team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and mentoring qualified and unqualified staff.
• Leading on service development and quality assurance activities.
• Delivering holistic, strength-based assessments and interventions.
• Representing the council in multi-agency forums and panels.
• Supporting safeguarding procedures and lone working protocols.
• Staying informed on legislative changes and ensuring team compliance.

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 2-3 years' post-qualifying experience in adult social care.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and care models.
• Proven experience in supervision, case management, and service development.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Desirable: Practice Educator, Best Interest Assessor, or AMHP qualifications.
