Senior Children's Social Worker - Family Help (Safeguarding)

Locum | Ongoing Assignment

Location: Basingstoke (and other Hampshire locations available)
Pay: Up to £42 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary / Locum

Connect2socialwork is currently recruiting Senior Children's Social Workers to join Hampshire County Councils Family Help - Safeguarding Teams on an ongoing locum basis.

Opportunities are available across the following locations:
Basingstoke, Andover, Fareham & Gosport, Alton, Havant, Eastleigh & Winchester, Farnborough, Totton

About the Role

You will hold a mixed caseload across Early Help and Children in Need, working closely with Family Practitioners to support families and safeguard children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a mixed caseload of families across Early Help and CIN
  • Co‑work cases alongside Family Practitioners
  • Work within a defined geographical area/community
  • Build strong relationships with partner agencies and local organisations
  • Undertake assessments of risk, protection and social care needs
  • Complete joint assessments ensuring all risks are fully considered
  • Take appropriate safeguarding action within legal and statutory frameworks
  • Monitor, review and reassess care packages and services
  • Apply sound knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practice

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with up‑to‑date Social Work England registration
  • Experience working within Children's Safeguarding / CIN
  • Strong assessment and multi‑agency working skills
  • Ability to work autonomously within a statutory framework
