Connect2Socialwork are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Programme Manager to lead a high-impact Additional Needs and Disabilities Transformation Programme for a local authority in Woking.
Role Overview
This is a senior-level opportunity to drive complex, large-scale transformation, working closely with senior stakeholders to deliver strategic change aligned with the council's long-term vision. You will take full ownership of programme delivery, ensuring successful outcomes across multiple interconnected workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and oversight of complex transformation programmes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
- Develop and secure approval for business cases and change initiatives
- Manage programme governance, including reporting to Programme Boards and senior stakeholders
- Oversee significant budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and value delivery
- Drive cross-functional collaboration, engaging stakeholders at all levels
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and programme dependencies
- Ensure all projects within the programme are aligned, integrated, and delivering measurable benefits
- Provide high-level reporting and assurance on progress, performance, and outcomes
- Work closely with the Assistant Director for Transformation and wider leadership team
- Lead, mentor, and develop programme teams, driving continuous improvement and best practice
About You
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex transformation programmes within a public sector or similar environment
- Strong expertise in programme governance, assurance, and delivery frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders and boards
- Experience managing large budgets and multi-workstream programmes
- Skilled in risk management, strategic planning, and performance monitoring
- Able to lead within a matrix environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
