Children's Home Deputy Manager

Salary: £44000 - £50000 per annum
Location: Medway

 

Connect2Socialwork is recruiting on behalf of a local authority in South East England for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to a residential children's home committed to delivering high-quality care for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

This is a key leadership role supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets and exceeds regulatory standards, promotes best practice, and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people. The successful candidate will be passionate about trauma-informed care, safeguarding, and creating a nurturing, child-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in leading the residential team
  • Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted standards
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Coordinate staff rotas and ensure adequate cover across the service
  • Champion the voices, rights, and wellbeing of children and young people

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in residential childcare, including supervisory roles
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent); Level 5 Diploma desirable
  • Strong understanding of trauma, attachment, safeguarding, and child development
  • Confident in managing staff, rotas, and multi-agency relationships
  • Willingness to undertake PACE and Team Teach training
  • Full UK driving licence
