Recruiters don’t have the best reputation right?

Well, a recent survey carried out by StandOut CV, the UK’s Leading CV Writing Service, indicates how a whopping 67% of job seekers are unhappy with the service they get from recruiters. And to be honest, we don’t blame them, when 76% of candidates are rarely contacted again or given feedback if they’re unsuccessful at interview.

Finding the time and motivation to find a new job isn’t easy at the best of times, with the survey showing that the average job seeker spends almost a whole working day, 6.5 hours, a week looking for a new job. Totaljobs has also found that 65% of jobseekers are finding their current job search much harder than their last, having to apply to 27 jobs just to get one interview!

So where does the recruiter come into all of this? Well, we’re meant to be here to make your life easier; we know the market, have all the right contacts and are well versed in our specialist desks. Recruiters are consultants, they are supposed to consultant and advise, so why when a candidate is unsuccessful, do many recruiters fail to feedback as to why they were unsuccessful and what route would be best to take next?
