Activities and days out in Kent for you and the kids this summer

Back

The summer holidays are finally here and excitement is in the air! However, we understand that some parents may be worrying how they are going to keep the kids entertained for 6 weeks! For that reason, we have done our research and put together the ultimate list of activities and days out across Kent for you to enjoy!

  1. Canterbury Spy Mission Treasure Trail

Based in the heart of Canterbury, this a perfect activity to do as a family, exploring the historical city and seeing it in all of its glory! The activity is self-guided and suitable for all ages from young children to teenagers. During the trail you will follow a fixed walking route of around 2 miles, which can be spread out over the day or completed in one go.

As you progress through the trail, you’ll find plenty of hidden gems and features that will enable you to complete the answer grid in order to work out the deactivation code to save the day…

The trail is recommended for groups of 4 – 5, and the cost is £6.99 per trail – bargain!

  1. The Hop Farm Family Park

Hop Farm is a family favourite. Based in the area of Paddock Wood, they are hosting a summer of entertainment! From July 25th until the first week of September there will be events and different activities each day for you and your children to enjoy.

Guests such as Peter Rabbit and Peppa Pig will be making an appearance throughout the month of August, and other children’s activities such as Magic Castles, 4D Cinemas, Bumper Cars, Horse and Cart Rides, Driving School and much more will be available for all to enjoy!

The farm is open from 10AM – 5PM during the summer and general admission is just £3.

  1. Dreamland, Margate

A popular choice for days out within Kent is Dreamland in Margate! After being re-opened back in 2015 and restored in 2017, this is now a family favourite. Not only is there a festival every day, but you are also right on the beach the minute you walk out of their door, so if the weather is on your side why not grab some chips and enjoy the sunshine at the seaside!

With a range of wristbands and passes to buy, whatever budget you have will enable you and the family to have a great day out. With a variety of thrill rides and amusements to choose from and a roller disco for you to enjoy there is more than enough to do.

Go visit their website to find out more about prices and opening hours!

  1. Clip ‘n Climb, Tonbridge

Another great day out to add to the list is Clip ‘n Climb based in the area of Tonbridge. This is a perfect option to keep fit and active throughout the summer holidays, and will definitely leave you feeling worn out by the end of the day!

Clip ‘n Climb is perfect for all ages, from adults to juniors aged 4 upwards. During the summer holidays, this centre is open from 9AM – 8PM offering a time slot to suit all. With a variety of walls to climb, a vertical drop slide to experience and much more, there is something for everyone.

Of course, there are several activities for you to enjoy within our lovely county of Kent that will not cost you a penny. Why not take a trip to your local park with a picnic? Or if you are in the area, take a trip to the Natural History Museum or Science Museum, both free of charge and a great day out!

Ultimately, if you work within a school as a teacher or a member of support staff, then take this time to enjoy and relax! Spend time with your children and loved ones and be ready to kick start the school year come September…
